Josie Wright
Arizona-born actor and comedian Josie is making her mark on New York City’s theater scene.
Called a “force of nature” by Gil Benbrook, she trained at NYU Tisch School of the Arts and was selected in 2023 to continue her Shakespeare studies at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. (This is also where she developed a passion for stage combat… broadswords and Julius Caesar? How could she resist??)
Additionally, while earning her degree, Josie joined the NYU comedy scene through Pasadena Golf Club, her former improv troupe, and continues to perform improv and stand-up at UCB and other clubs across the city.
As soon as she was old enough to drive herself to her local youth theater in Arizona, Josie began working both onstage and behind the scenes, serving as an assistant director, stage manager, board operator, and even co-founding a nonprofit in 2020 that raised over $10,000 for local Arizona theaters struggling during COVID-19. Recent credits include Cracked! at Teatro LATEA and He Hates Me! at The Tank. She has also contributed to on and Off-Broadway productions including: Little Shop of Horrors (Westside Theatre), Ghost of John McCain (SoHo Playhouse), Just in Time, and Call Me Izzy. Known for her authenticity, curiosity, and dynamic presence, Josie’s sense of humor, fearless instincts, and soulful approach to storytelling make her a versatile and deeply connected theater-maker in every role she takes on.
